The quartz movement mounting requires an 8mm hole and you will need to measure your clock face material to determine the thread length you need. All movements come with a hanger and plastic, metal washer and nut. Place the hanger over the shaft then the black plastic washer on the 8mm shaft. Position through the hole from the back, place the washer over the shaft then the nut only wind it down finger tight. Caution here if you use a spanner or pliers, you can apply too much force and pull the shaft from the black box or at least miss align the gear inside stopping the movement from working.
